Ancestral Author helps you document your genealogical research by constructing fully hyperlinked Adobe Acrobat PDF files from GEDCOM files, text files, images, and other sources of user input. It is very simple to use, and creates high quality documents that can be printed, emailed, published on the internet, or sent to a service bureau for conversion into a bound book. In it's simplest form, just drag and drop a GEDCOM file onto the Ancestral Author desktop icon, and in a few seconds you have a fully hyperlinked, indexed PDF document showing the genealogy of the people in the GEDCOM, presented in a modified register format. Click on a name, and you are brought immediately to the page on which that person appears. The name index is fully hyperlinked too. Click on an index entry, and jump immediately to that person. You can use the more sophisticated features of Ancestral Author to create a comprehensive document of your genealogical research with the following elements: (1) title page, with graphic illustrating your family crest, coat of arms, etc. (2) Chapter and section headings, supporting text imported from a file. (3) Any number of descendant reports extracted from a GEDCOM file. (4) A list of sources. (5) A full hyperlinked name index. (6) Source annotations - click on a source annotation next to a person in the descendant report, and see a list of all sources for that individual. (7) A PDF outline view showing all the chapters and sections in your document.
